Location: White Bear Education Complex, White Bear FN, Saskatchewan
OVERVIEW:
The White Bear Education Complex on White Bear First Nations is seeking a Principal for the 2023-2024 school year. We are seeking a dynamic and committed individual to provide a high standard of educational and administrative leadership for our First Nations school. We are seeking a leader who is a dedicated lifelong learner, who understands best practices in Indigenous Education, and whose focus remains consistently on the learning success of our children and youth.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- You are an experienced, highly organized and effective educator with previous school administrator experience and strong leadership attributes.
- You are an educational leader and innovator with a persistent belief in the learning success of students, and expectations for a high standard of excellence.
- You are knowledgeable about Indigenous education, including the importance of place-based, land-based and Treaty education, working with Elders and Knowledge Keepers.
- You are knowledgeable of the Truth and Reconciliation Committees recommendations for education.
- You are committed to creating and maintaining a safe, respectful and welcoming learning environment for all staff and students.
- You are a relationship builder who supports and creates positive working relationships that inspire collegiality, collaboration and community building.
- Your Indigenous language/culture skills are an asset to this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-Secondary Degree in Education with previous teaching and/or leadership training, certification and/or experience.
- Must hold a valid Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate and have registered with the Saskatchewan Teachers Professional Regulatory Board (SPTRB), or willing to be registered.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a Master of Education or those with advanced education, training and/or certification in the area of school-based leadership, educational administration.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- The successful candidate will be required to submit a valid Driver’s Abstract and Criminal Record Check w/ Vulnerability Screen.
