May 31, 2024 – Honouring Our Nation Builders Traditional Pow-Wow and Awards Ceremony
To honour our Nation Builders in the past, we hosted Award Gala nights. This year, we got back to our roots and we hosted the first Honouring Our Nation Builders Traditional Pow-Wow and Awards Ceremony on May 31. The 2024 Honouring Our Nation Builders Traditional Pow-Wow and Awards Ceremony was a success. On May 31, 2024, Treaty Education Alliance hosted a pow-wow and awards ceremony to honour those who are striving towards excellence in TEA Member Nation Schools. Congratulations to all this year’s award winners!

January 31, 2024 – Trauma-Informed Practice for Indigenous Education Workshop
Treaty Education Alliance hosted a one-day workshop at the Treaty 4 Governance Centre that was aimed at providing educators with Trauma-Informed Practices and strategies in the classroom. The two presenters, Faith Watson & Kristen Tootoosis, are both very educated and have years of direct experience of incorporating and providing Trauma-Informed Practices in a school-setting. The workshop was capped at only 50 seats to allow for interactive opportunities with attendees and the presenters. This event was open to all non-Treaty Education Alliance members.
January 18, 2024 – Treaty Education Alliance 2023 Annual General Meeting
Due to postponements, the Treaty Education Alliance’s 2023 Annual General Meeting was set for January 18th, 2024 at the Treaty 4 Governance Centre Tipi Boardroom. The AGM began at 5:00 pm and went to 8:30 pm. There were great presentations during the review of the 2022-23 Annual Report as well as great feedback for the work that is being done by Treaty Education Alliance.
